Fillings
Tooth colored fillings are what we use to fill or treat holes or missing tooth structure on teeth commonly caused by decay or tooth fracture. Fillings are an example of a direct restoration meaning a restoration that is fabricated, designed, finished, and polished inside the mouth. This is not to be confused with crowns, inlays, and onlays which are classified as an indirect restoration fabricated outside of the mouth by means of a laboratory process of in-office milling. Each has their own positives and negatives. When possible, we will likely recommend a filling before we would recommend a crown. Fillings are a great way to remove decay and cost effectively restore your teeth back to their natural form and contour in 1 short appointment. Quality of material and a good dentist that can achieve proper preparation techniques and isolation during placement are essential to providing you with a long lasting restoration. At our office we are sure to use the best materials that are available and use the best techniques available to place your filling.
